WHEREAS, the Revised Charter of the City and County of Honolulu requires the
adoption of a General Plan which shall set forth the City's broad policies
for the long range development of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Administration, in partial compliance with Section 5-411 of the RCH, has
submitted to the Council its report and recommendations on the proposed General Plan
revisions; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said proposed general plan and has held
a public hearing thereon; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has transmitted said proposed general plan, with its
findings and recommendations, through the Mayor to the Council for consideration and action;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after periodic meetings with the Executive Planning Committee and
other public agencies, has reviewed and, wherever deemed necessary, modified the Administration's proposed
General Plan revision;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City and County
of Honolulu that in compliance with Section 5-412 of RCH, the General Plan
document dated January 18, 1977, marked Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a
part hereof, shall be adopted as the official General Plan of the City
and County of Honolulu and shall become effective pursuant to Charter provision prescribed
in RCH Section 5-412.1.
