Title:
A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM.
Gist:
The purpose of the Bill is to add to the public transit fare structure the categories of handicapped and senior citizen riders, establish a $15 application fee for a four-year senior citizen bus pass, require Special Transit Service passes to be renewed every four years, and detail conditions and penalties for the transference of passes.
Comments:
The CD-2 version contains recommendations from DTS and Corporation Counsel which incorporates a $.30 single fare for elderly and handicapped bus riders with identification cards and authorized the Public Transit Authority to issue identification cards for a $6.00 processing fee. (Refer to BFCR-429)
