SUMMER FUN FAQ's 2008 The City's Summer Fun Program is the largest of its kind in the State, serving about 10,000 school age children each year. The program runs approximately seven weeks at over sixty sites islandwide. It operates Mondays through Fridays, from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Children enjoy a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, sports and games, excursions, and special events. News Ad: week of April 28, 2008 in MIDWEEK, lists Summer Fun sites and gives registration information. Program Dates: Majority of programs - June 9 to July 25 (7 weeks); may vary due to different school schedules. Holiday: June 11 (King Kamehameha I Day) and July 4 (Independence Day). Registration Dates: - May 10, 2008 - 9 am to 12:00 pm Program Hours: 8:30 am - 2 pm, Mondays thru Fridays Cost: $25 Registration fee (waived for families receiving state aid with letter of eligibility) and up to $75 for activity fees such as excursions, movies, etc. Where: over 60 sites islandwide. Summer Plus: Summer Plus is an optional recreational child care program offered before and after Summer Fun at additional cost. Program sites offering Summer Plus will be announced at a later date.
