MAINTENANCE SUPPORT SERVICES DIVISION

The Maintenance Support Services Division is responsible for constructing, renovating, repairing, servicing, and maintaining park buildings, grounds and other recreational facilities. It also develops new programs and evaluates existing programs by compiling and analyzing statistical data, researching and evaluating new methods, techniques, equipment and materials to improve overall efficiency and service to its customers.

Maintenance Support Services has five operating sections and one repair unit:

• Trades Section: Carpentry, Masonry, Painting, Plumbing, and Welding.
• Chemical Section
• Heavy Equipment Section
• Utility Section.
• Fertilizer Section
• and Mower Repair/Service Unit: responsible for repairs and servicing of small gas operated engines.

For the period July 1, 1996 to June 30 ,1997 the Maintenance Support Services division completed 12,244 work orders, 382 project requests and procured over $570,000 of contract work for work program projects.
