FOSTER BOTANICAL GARDEN
Docent/ Reception Training
Learn the names and interesting facts about the trees in Foster Botanical Garden. Share your knowledge with
visitors and children. Classes will be held on Tuesday afternoons, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Supply fee of $25.00
which is reimbursed after 12 hours of volunteering.

LILIUOKALANI BOTANICAL GARDEN
Lili`uokalani Nu`uanu Stream Clean-Up Service Project
Come clean Nu`uanu Stream inside Lili`uokalani Botanical Garden. A great community service project! HBG will provide
garbage bags and gloves, but you may bring your own. Need to wear covered shoes or boots.

HO`OMALUHIA BOTANICAL GARDEN
Family Fishing at Ho`omaluhia Botanical Garden
Come with your family to fish and enjoy the outdoors at Ho`omaluhia Botanical Garden. This catch and release program
is fun for everyone. Recommended: walking shoes, insect repellent, rain gear, and fishing supplies (barbless hooks).
There is a twenty (20) minute hike to the fishing area.

Keiki Fishing Derby
WIn a prize for catching the longest fish or the most fish. Contest is for ages 4 to 17.

Botanical Drawing and Painting Sessions - Self Directed
Actual renderings of plants, flowers, seeds and pods from the garden. Bring supplies: #4 round brush, Bristol paper
and quality watercolor set, or watercolor pencils. Some experience in watercolor & drawing helpful.

Nature Hour for Tiny Tots
Activities include a stroy, craft and a short hike. Participants are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch for after the program.

Kaena Point Nature Hike

8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Hike with Kay Lynch and learn to identify rare native plants
on a rugged and picturesque hike. Winter is a great time
to see albatross nesting and if you are lucky,
you might even see a monk seal basking in the sun
or a whale spouting off shore.
The hike is six miles.
Please bring 2 liters of water, sunscreen,
light jacket, hat, hiking shoes or shoes with treads
(no sandals or slippers), and a snack.
