A PROFILE OF

C.L.E.A.N.

(Campbell Local Emergency Action Network)

C.L.E.A.N is a voluntary, non-government not-for-profit local organization that aims to facilitate relationships among industrial facilities in Campbell Industrial Park (CIP), the Honolulu Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), Emergency Response Agencies, and residents of the communities that surround CIP.

C.L.E.A.N is involved in a number of activities to promote the welfare of CIP and its surroundings. Included among these are: continuing development of the community-based CIP Emergency Resources Guide ; community education programs; training and response efforts to protect employees; support of community organizations and the families they represent; environmental protection; emergency response exercises; and the enhancement of emergency warning systems -- just to name a few.

The CIP Resources Guide is a significant component in an improved management system for emergencies that affect the CIPcommunity. Information in the Resource Guide is provided voluntarily by CIP businesses, civic organizations, government agencies, and members of the emergency response community. Like most publications of its type, the Resources Guide is a work in progress that is improved, maintained and updated annually to assure its value to the CIP community.

Businesses operating in CIP are encouraged to sustain C.L.E.A.N by becoming members. There is a place in C.L.E.A.N for each Campbell Industrial Park business, regardless of size. Those who are interested may drop a line to the Secretary of C.L.E.A.N to obtain more information. The address is: C.L.E.A.N, Attn: Secretary, P.O. Box 700397, Kapolei, HI 96709-0397.
