Regular Meeting Agenda

Neighborhood Board Elections are in progress.  Candidate Profiles are available on line at www.honolulu/nco.gov

 

RULES OF SPEAKING:  Anyone wishing to speak must raise their hand; and after recognition address their comments to the Chair. Comments must relate to the pending agenda item. Speakers are encouraged to keep their comments under one (1) minute, and those giving reports are encouraged to keep their reports less than three (3) minutes.  Please silence all electronic devices.

NOTES:  The Board may take action on any agenda item.  As required by the State Sunshine Law (HRS, Chapter 92) specific issues not listed on this agenda cannot be voted on, unless properly added to the agenda.  Only two (2) turns to speak, including Board members, of one (1) minute each.  All times listed are for time management and are not to be considered as absolutes.

 

I.                    CALL TO ORDER at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Lockwood

II.                 PUBLIC SAFETY & COMMUNITY LIAISON (20 Minutes) Questions in private or in writing to these officials before or after they speak would be greatly appreciated to save time.

A.     Mo’ili’ili Graduate Planning Practicum (Fall ’08) This project is complete

C.     Report on Neighborhood Commission meeting of 27 April

D.     18 April T.A.G. Clean Up report on event

E.   40th Anniversary of the McCully – Mo’ili’ili Library will be celebrated in

     November of 2009.  Ideas are welcome at rnlockwoodohana @yahoolcom

                  F. 125th Anniversary of Prince Kuhio Elementary School will be celebrated

                        May 30, 2009.  Call 973 – 0085 to join the anniversary committee as a

                        Community or alumni members please. 

            G.   Fire Station will be opening this summer (April – July). The McCully

Mo’ili’ili name is on the building.  A new pumper truck is in the station.

 

      VIII.         UNFINISHED BUSINESS (5 Minutes per Topic)

                   B.  Complete Streets (SB718 SD1) is awaiting action by the Governor

                   C.  Fireworks up-date. SB 1060, raises fees for permits and gives $ to fire

                         Departments, was at Conference Committee on Wed. 4 – 29

                   D.  Kapiolani Medical Center Combined Meeting

                          The Board needs to take action to formally approve N.B. #8 participation

                          in a joint N.B. meeting to be held Tuesday, June 23rd from 6:30 – 8:30

                          at Central Union Church. 

                          1.  Motion needed to approve N.B. #8 participation in the above meeting.

                          2.  Motion needed to keep our regular meeting of 4 June OR 

                          3.  Motion needed to recess our regular meeting of June 4th

                    Saturday, 9 May – 8:00 – 12:00 AARP, American Occupational Therapists

                           Assoc. and Kaimuki High Student Government will host “Car Fit” a program   

                           for senior citizens to insure proper fit in the car seat.  Call 843 – 1906 to reserve

                           a check-up spot.      

Saturday, 16 May – 8:00 – 11:30 Yale alumni, Kaimuki High JROTC and Iolani 5th graders will work with T.A.G. to clean stream banks and remove graffiti in the Kaimuki High, Crane Park, Date Street, Kaimuki Avenue area.

Saturday, 30 May – (TBD) 125th Anniversary of Prince Kuhio School will be celebrated with multicultural booths; entertainment; historical displays and an international banquet.  973 – 0085 for details.
