Nanakuli-Maili Neighborhood Board REGULAR MEETING AGENDA TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2009
7:00 PM TO 9:30 PM PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE. All guests, residents and board members should be recognized by the chair before speaking. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (Ten minutes per presentations - 2 minutes per person questions/comments) - Board Action items 9.1 Update on Bellows Air Force Base Military project to dispose more cleanup debris at the PVT Landfill, 10. NEW BUSINESS (Ten minutes per presentation - 2 minutes per person questions/ comments) – Board Action items 10.1 The NMNB #36 Health & Human Service-Public Safety Committee recommend that the NMNB #36 support the expansion of the Waimanalo Gulch Landfill for the following primary reasons: 1) The City needs to identify the alternative sites or methods that will used to replace the current amount of MSW generated at the Waimanalo Gulch in the event it closes; 2) Because the PVT Landfill company is currently operating in the heart of the Nanakuli community, the HHSPS committee believes that this State licensed landfill will be used in an emergency crisis to accept the MSW from Waimanalo Gulch when it closes. 10.2 The NMNB #36 H&H/PS Committee request that the NMNB #36 adopt the letter of complaint (see attachment of letter) as the board's official position in its filing with our elected officials regarding the poor leadership and management team of the Department of Health Brach in the oversight of the PVT Landfill Company and its operation in the Nanakuli community. 10.3 Ka Nai Ola O Wai'anae – Advisory Committee, Ms. Leslie Kahihikolo
