Kailua Neighborhood Board places a donation box for board and community members at each meeting for non-perishable and canned foods as well as diapers and toilet tissue to distribute to appropriate service agencies.

A.     Declaration of One Vacancy in SUBDISTRICT 2 (Enchanted Lake, Keolu Hills) and One Vacancy in SUBDISTRICT 4 (Coconut Grove, Aikahi, Kailua Town, Kalaheo Hills) – The certified letters to notify the two members of their three absences were sent on March 13, 2009 and no responses have been received.

 

B.     Filling of One Vacancy in SUBDISTRICT 2 (Enchanted Lake, Keolu Hills) and One Vacancy in SUBDISTRICT 4 (Coconut Grove, Aikahi, Kailua Town, Kalaheo Hills) – If any motions are made and adopted regarding the above item.

X.       BOARD ACTIONS                                                                                                                         8:35 P.M.

 

A.     Government & Community Services Committee (GCS) – Jon Chinen, Chair

 

Motion 1: The Kailua Neighborhood Board No. 31 strongly objects to House Bill (HB 980), HD2 THE “RENAISSANCE BILL”; Relating to Recreational Renaissance and Recreational Renaissance Program. (Fortifies the recreational renaissance program of the State Department of Land and Natural Resources through various amendments to State law).

 

Motion 2: The Government and Community Services Committee moves that the Board consider forming a Permitted Interaction Group for organizing agenda issues to potential Mayor’s visit to KNB.

 

Motion 3: The Kailua Neighborhood Board No. 31 urges the Neighborhood Commission to provide a hard copy of the Neighborhood Plan 2008 to all new and sitting members of Neighborhood Board by July 1, 2009.

 

Motion 4: The Kailua Neighborhood Board No. 31 supports the Neighborhood Commission’s formation of a Permitted Interaction Group to review and revise the Neighborhood Member Guidebook including participation by the Neighborhood Board Members, Neighborhood Commission, and Neighborhood Commission Office.

 

B.     Post-Committee

 

Motion: The Government and Community Services Committee (KNB) opposes any legislative efforts that would result in the expansion of powers and authority of the State Water Commission without the specific obligation to correct its existing problems. (Examples are: HR52; HB1807, HD1; SB1381 SD1; HB1406, HD2; SB1182; HB1092; SB910 HD1; SB581; SB671; and SB1049.)

 

C.     Non-Committee

 

Motion: The Kailua Neighborhood Board No. 31 urges the City and County of Honolulu and the State of Hawaii film offices to refrain from issuing permits for setting up and conducting filming activities in residentially zoned area before 8:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m., and to mandate a meeting with affected neighbors one month prior to the date of filming.
