Enos, Virginia

As a resident of Lanikai for 14 years and an active KNB member since 2002, I am committed to community involvement. The primary issues I champion are preservation of the residential integrity of your community, commercial free parks and beaches, and controlled tourism development.

 

Hawes, Michael R.

Born and raised in Portland Oregon, Attended Oregon State University. Married In 1992 recently moved to Kailua with my wife Stephanie and two children Blake 11 & Sami 8. Our kids attend Kailua elementary and Stephanie is a part time teacher there. Past experience on community based boards and youth sports coach.

 

RETHERFORD, Ursula

Active in many environmental and public interest issues since 1972. Instrumental in the battle against high-rise development that resulted in the down-zoning of Kailua to present height limits. Interested in planning. Concerned with the spread of B&Bs and its effect on long-term rentals and quality of life.

CHINEN, Jon A.

Serving you on the Kailua Neighborhood Board as Chairman of the Government and Community Services Committee; we made great progress in shaping a new Neighborhood Plan governing the Boards. I would like to finish the good work started.  Please return me. Mahalo for your support.

 

CHRISTENSEN, Shawn

Current member of the Board. Strong desire to help and improve our community and work to offer positive changes for all. As a youth sports program advisor and coach I understand the challenges to improve our parks and improve our quality of life. My wife Stacey and I have lived in Kailua for more than 18 years.  

 

Prentiss, Chuck

Current Board chair. Strong interest in helping Kailua remaining a residential community while improving City + State services. Promotes Board keeping Kailua residents informed on community issues via Olelo. Main concerns include property taxes, development, speeding, and environmental protection.

VC-Planning Zoning & Environment, mbr Government & Comm. Serv, rep Civilian-Military Council KMCB.

 

Ure, Linda

Homeowner. Alumni UHM. Sec-Treas Maunawili Community Association. Secretary KNB, 2005 to present. Promote responsible governance, delivery of programs and services, citizen's rights, primary and secondary education, law enforcement, home rule, environmental protections & responsible stewardship of land & water.

 

Weinberg, Ron

As a current Board member, I strive to represent the community by holding accountable our local elected representatives. Let us continue to question those decisions important to our quality of life here in the world's most beautiful place. We can make a difference if we speak out!

 

Wong, Donna

I am Donna Wong seeking reelection to the Kailua Neighborhood Board. As Planning, Zoning and Environment Committee chair for the past 7 years I have fought to keep our beaches and ocean accessible, retain valuable open space, preserve Kawainui Marsh and maintain Kailua's residential lifestyle.

BARTLEY, Larry

Master's UH Engineering School. Owner Kailua Engineering Business. Kailua homeowner with children graduated Kailua schools. Larry Bartley desires to bring his deep concern, expertise, energy and common sense to the population density, crime, traffic, and infrastructure problems facing Kailua.

 

FENSKE, Derrick W.

Kailua resident 10 yrs, married w/ 2 kids. Kailua should continue to be a residential beach town. Residents should have input in Gov. decisions: Commercial activities, natural resources, neighborhood safety. Background: B.A. Geography, C&C (Env. Dept. 7yr) Navy, Env. Specialist (current).

 

FERNANDEZ, Catie

Land use planner hoping to facilitate meaningful public participation on issues important to Kailua residents.  It is essential that the comm. has accurate info about land development and knowledge of impacts on mauka and coastal resources.  As a board member, I would help our comm. contribute to reasoned decisions and policy.

 

GLANSTEIN, Debbi

Healthcare advocate w/ Windward Health Network. Active KNB member/Treasurer asking for vote of confidence to continue serving Kailua. I'm committed to suburban zoning, affordable housing, Kawainui preservation, health/service resources, neighborhood schools, safe streets & common sense dialogue.

 

LINDGARD, Knud       

Senior logistics systems analyst. Main areas of expertise encompass Civil Defense emergency planning, emergency response time, noise abatement, pollution control, civil rights, fairness in housing and environmental evaluation. My long tenure as seated member provides institutional memory without BS.    

 

Pico, Tom Jr.

Kailua resident 30+ years. Kailua High School graduate. Married to Mary Zanakis-Pico, owner of Mary's toys in the Kailua Shopping Center. Attorney with Insurance Division of State Dept. of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. If elected will focus on planning and environmental issues. Mahalo for your vote.

 

Tomasa, Claudine M.

Member of KNB 12 yrs. Board Chair - 2 terms. If re-elected will continue to support: grass root input w/ government, public health/safety & controlled development in Kailua.  Grad. UH Manoa –RN. Home owner, married, 3 grown children active in community, healthcare, construction.

 

UCH, Utey

Working at Hardware Hawaii as an accountant, having background in acouting, computer programming, and land management. To ensure the best and quick assistance for the residents and to raise their concerns to the Governor of Hawaii and the Mayor of Honolulu.
