Afternoon Sessions
The Breakout Session reports on this site are intended as a summary of the issues and ideas that were developed by the participants of the breakout session. They are not a representation of what the City and County of Honolulu's views are or what solutions will be pursued. This website will be updated with the relevant information as the City & County of Honolulu reviews the issues presented, and determines, along with the community, how best to respond to issues that it can impact.
Breakout Session: Public Safety Concerns (Button link to summary)
The breakout session on Public Safety crossed over into several areas. Some of the issues had to do with homelessness and others to do with drug dealing and general crime. There was also a concern that generally, the pedestrian experience in Chinatown was not a safe one.
Breakout Session: Landowner issues (Button link to summary)
The breakout session for Landowner Issues revealed that many of the issues discussed in other sessions overlap and have implications on the issues facing landowners (such as homelessness and crime).

The breakout session on Customerís Perception identified a number of items that impact on the general Chinatown experience and economic viability.

The breakout session on Homelessness identified the general issue as one that has a far-reaching impact on Chinatown Unlike some of the other breakout groups, this one focused on dealing with the issues facing the homeless that kept them on the streets in Chinatown. |
