In addition to preventing and fighting fires, the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responds to emergency medical incidents, hazardous materials spills and leaks, land search and rescues, and ocean search and rescues.  On this page, HFD personnel demonstrate the use of the PWC to accomplish an ocean rescue.  The techniques shown here follow methods pioneered by Honolulu Lifeguards Brian Keaulana, Terry Ahue, and others at Ocean Safety

The PWC, rescue sleds, and trailer are housed at the Hawaii Kai, Kailua, and Waianae Fire Stations.

The Waimanalo and Kaaawa Fire Stations are equipped with a Sea-Doo jet boat.
