MAYOR'S COMMITTEES
Honolulu County Committee on the Status of Women (HCCSW) Created under the terms of ACT 190 of the 1970 Hawaii State Legislature, the members of the HCCSW serve voluntarily as an advisory body to the Mayor and various local agencies on matters of concerns to women. HCCSW interacts with the Mayor, City Council, Hawaii State Commission on Status of Women, Hawaii State Legislature and the community-at-large. Some of the HCCSW's accomplishments include, the Annual Women's History Month held in March; developing publications and legislation relating to women's issues; participant in various community and state task forces including Title IX, Violence Prevention Consortium, Pay Equity.

Mayor's Committee for People with Disabilities (MCPD) Established in 1971, MCPD members serve voluntarily as an advisory capacity to the Mayor on matters relating to persons with disabilities. MCPD also provides input and guidance to City agencies on issues relating to public accommodations and accessibility as prescribed under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Past accomplishments have included, creating a beach access wheelchair at selected city beaches; input on architectural design on city housing and parks; assisting in the City's ADA transition and self-evaluation plan. Currently serve as administrative staff and liaison to the City and Mayor.
