THREE ROAD REPAVING PROJECTS TO START SOON

The City will soon begin three road repair and repaving projects that will ensure approximately 2,600 lane feet of roadway are safe and smooth.

Mayor Mufi Hannemann said, “These projects, combined with our recent work on South Beretania, Keeaumoku, University, and other streets, are prime examples of our focus on catching up on our infrastructure needs.  We’ll be devoting more resources to road repaving in the months to come, so the public can expect to see continuing improvements to our roads.”

The first project will include the portion of Waimanu Street from Piikoi Street to Pensacola Street.  Work is expected to begin Tuesday, May 13, and take about two weeks.  The project includes 500 lane feet and is expected to cost $120,000.

The second project will include the portion of Queen Street from Ward Avenue to Kamakee Street.  The project includes 1,000 lane feet and is expected to cost $240,000.  Work is expected to begin soon after the Waimanu Street project is completed.

The third project will include the portion of Diamond Head Road from the lighthouse to the third lookout.  The project includes 1,100 lane feet and is expected to cost $430,000.  Work is expected to begin soon after the Queen Street project is completed.

All three projects are expected to be completed within 8 weeks.
