CITY TO BREAK GROUND FOR KAPOLEI PARKWAY EXTENSION

            Mayor Mufi Hannemann and City officials will break ground Monday for the extension of Kapolei Parkway to connect Renton Road with the North-South Road, now being constructed by the state.

            The event will be held on Monday, March 17, 10:30 a.m., at the intersection of Kapolei Parkway and Renton Road.  A map of the site is attached.

            The work will include construction of a six-lane roadway with landscaped median, a 10-foot multi-purpose pedestrian/bike path, new curbs and gutters, sidewalks, drainage system, street lighting, landscaping and irrigation, and water and sewer utilities.

            Design consultant is R.M. Towill Corporation.  Construction manager is TM Designers, Inc.  Contractor is Albert C. Kobayashi, Inc.  The cost will be $15.5 million and is expected to be completed in one year.
