The solutions for many our social ills, such crime and drug use, can only arrive by way of education and teamwork. We all know that there is no silver bullet to solving these problems. I believe that a key priority is to reach children and adults before these negative elements become a part of their lives. Part of breaking the cycle is preventing its commencement. We will continue to look at how the City can work with State and Federal resources and programs to meet these common goals. Collaboration between residents and the police will bring the protection and enforcement necessary to bring solutions and changes. In addition, the City must provide the police resources to serve West Oahu adequately.
